“Songs For Bob” on Ketacore Records
“Songs For Mike” on Spirit Of Progress
Tonal Verges is back with 4 new tracks on Ketacore Records. The “Songs For Bob” are slightly less core and more tech than his last releases, but maintain the mesmerizing darkness, boldness and melancholy as needed and expected. Heavily tributing Twin Peaks, this EP also aims to immerse listeners (and dancefloors) in alternate realities.
Simultaneously released with “Songs For Mike” on the Spirit Of Progress label, which can be considered as the other half (or döppelganger) of this release. This “damn fine music” can be found here, to complete the experience :spiritofprogress.bandcamp.com/album/songs-for-mike
For way too long veteran producer Tonal Verges has let us cool our heels since his EPs for SOP and ZUUR – but now the wait is over: Four tracks of analogue sounding, profound and doomed electro techno and a concept that relates to Twin peaks obviously. Tonal Verges kicks it off slow and lurching, with razor-sharp hi-hats, belching bass and alluring melody lines, tapping deep into the consciousness of electro techno history with a nod towards Detroit; and it’s with “The White Of The Eyes” that more sturdy beat patterns fly in, catering for massive crossover potential with contemporary industrial techno and doomcore.
Simultaneously released with “Songs For Mike” on the Ketacore label, which can be considered as the other half (one could say döppelganger) of this release. This “damn fine music” can be found here, to complete the experience:
